A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 24

Today you fire your brain.

Your brain is exactly like that guy at the Motor Vehicle Department who can’t conceive of any service other than he’s already done.  You know, that irritating guy who, when you explain exactly what happened and why you’re there, just looks at you blankly.

The guy with no imagination, and no idea how to deal with anything new.

That guy.

So, fire him!

Hire in your stunt double – that other you, there deep in your heart, that knows (and always has known) you can do anything, be anything.

Because your brain does NOT have your best interests in mind.  It’s intent on classifying every experience, in light of the past, and has no clue how to allow new ideas in.

Five times today, for two minutes each time, take this statement and fill in the blanks.  “In the situation involving _________, I would like _________ to happen, and _________ to happen.

And take a close look at what you’ve written.

Are some of those things contradictory?  Because a clear and concise focus is the key.

Your stunt double knows what you REALLY want.  Whether it’s learning how to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, or be the perfect example to your kids.

So fire that guy in your brain, the DMV guy, and let him move on to another place.  Put your stunt double in charge.

And don’t forget to fasten your seatbelt!
