A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 44

You have the power of creation in your head, and in your hands.

Don’t believe me?

Do you cook?  When you take the raw ingredients of a recipe and put them together in a particular way, you’re creating something delicious.

Do you craft?  If you’re a knitter, you take plain yarn (a long string of some material) and turn it into a scarf, a sweater, an afghan.  Each of these is your creation, a warm blessing to whoever gets to wear it.

Do you draw, or paint?  With a brush or a pen or a pencil, you put on paper something you’ve seen or imagined.  You take your unique viewpoint and put it on canvas or paper.

I needle-felt wads of wool into small animals, and masks, and fuzzy stress balls.

The act of creation is a great way to relieve stress in itself.  This is why kids love to color, draw, make mud pies, whittle sticks of wood into cars or planes.

Why not take that inherent power and form your life the way you want it to be?

Three times today, for three to five minutes each time, think about how you want your life to be.

If you want to live near the beach, think about the feeling of the sun on your face, the sand between your toes, the smell of the ocean.

If you want to be an author, think about the satisfaction of finishing a manuscript, seeing your book at your local bookstore.

The more you contemplate that life, the closer it comes to you.  Let the power of creation inside you have free rein to make over your life. Climb out of your not-so-safe shell, and give yourself room to grow.

Be blessed today, and be a blessing!
