A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 56

Today’s Divine Jukebox pick is “Imagine” by John Lennon.

We’re told to “Keep the faith”, to”Have the faith of a little child”, but then the next thing we’re hit with is “Don’t expect too much”.

Which one has been winning out in YOUR life?

Because you cannot have this both ways.  Either you hand over your wants to the Divine, or you don’t.

Either you have faith that things will happen for your good, or you don’t.

Now, while I’m the first one to grant that what the Universe gives you is not always what you expect, I refuse to believe that what you get (if you have faith) is not what you really need.

And I will warn you that the Universe has an interesting sense of humor.  My experiences prove this point!

My husband and I had been married for about five years, and he brought up one day that if we wanted our own child, we’d best get a move on, as I had already turned 39, and had none of my own.  He’d been ready to name his firstborn Tyler, when they found out that Rachel would suit better, and she’d recently turned 18.

We talked to the girls about it, and after a few months of serious consideration, decided that we were good just finishing up raising the girls.

My Mom was really disappointed that she wasn’t going to get a pile of grandchildren to play with, but she soldiered on through.

Less than 6 months later, I was pregnant.

Our son’s 16 now, and the light of our lives.  He’s blessed us in ways we couldn’t have imagined; just the idea of a grandchild was enough to help my Mom emerge from the deep depression she’d been in since my Dad had passed on.

And to cap it off, he was born the day before my Mom’s birthday the next year.

If that’s not divine humor in action, I don’t know what would qualify!

Whatever you can imagine, the Divine has so much more to give.

Dream BIG today!

If you’re looking for something different to do while you’re in quarantine, I suggest that you check out gutenberg.org!  It’s an entirely free site for public domain books.  And if you’re stuck at home for any length of time, you might want to volunteer to help proofread more books for anyone to read.  It’s strictly volunteer, and every page helps!

Have a safe and blessed day!

With Grace and Gratitude,
