A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 105

Everything we give, everything we think about, everything we pay attention to – expands!

There’s a lady at work who tells me she suffers from anxiety.  She’s taking a pill for it, but she’s always anxious anyway.

Every time she says to someone “I have anxiety”, she gives that idea more power and more space in her life.

Now, I’m not trying to say that people who suffer from anxiety shouldn’t get help.  I’m not saying they aren’t suffering.  I am saying that the more attention they give to their issue, the worse it’s going to get.

Yes, take your meds.  Then have the faith to believe that they’re going to work to balance out your brain chemistry, and let go.  Focus your efforts and attention on giving, on creating, on loving and on being thankful for the blessings you have.

Make your blessings expand, by carefully tending them just like a plant.

Think of your blessings as seedlings.  They need sunlight (love) and daily water (attention) to thrive and grow.  Sometimes you need to give them a bit of fertilizer – so give them all the poo in your life, knowing that it will help them with vital nutrients.

And keep paying attention!  Every day, check on your baby blessings.  Make sure they’re not drying out, or stuck in the dark. Take care of them!

Because everything you pay attention to – expands like a balloon filling with gas, like a mighty oak tree growing from a tiny acorn.

And, honestly, wouldn’t you rather be growing blessings?

Fertilize your blessings today, and cause them to take over your life!
