A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 102

Today is your day!

Everything you experience today will only add to your joy, your happiness, your contentment!

Maybe yesterday wasn’t like that?

Well, the kicker is that it’s up to you.

Set your intention for the day.

Tell yourself that no matter what seems to happen around you today, you WILL be fine.

Remind yourself every hour that you are having the best day EVER, and whether or not appearances agree, YOU are okay.

It’s difficult in our “results oriented” society to keep in mind that everything happens for a reason.  It’s really hard to not worry, and extremely difficult to just “Let go and let God”.

But if you get away from the habit of worry, turn your back on discontent, there’s a whole Universe of abundance ready and willing to come into your life and stay.

Can you imagine what life would be like if we all just quit worrying?

The entire planet would change overnight.

What the heck would life on THAT planet be like?

As John Lennon wrote, “Imagine all the people, living for today…”

 Today, just live for today.

And have an EXTRAORDINARY day!

Perfect happiness.  Unending love.  Continuous joy.

That’s what the Divine wants for you and me.

Contentment should be our natural state.

And when it isn’t, we have to remind ourselves that God made NO mistakes.  You and I are perfect creations, each of us a miracle in our own right, intended to unfold lovely surprises and creations of our own.

When I feel dissatisfied, it means I’ve made a decision that doesn’t jive with what the Universe wants for me.  In recognizing that, I have to find my way back onto the right path – the path of love and joy.  Generally, I have to get some help.

Remind yourself today, once each hour if you can, that you ARE a miracle.  That you are perfectly capable of experiencing complete happiness and enveloping bliss, all the time.

If you need help reaching for it, you just have to ask.

No matter how battered you may feel, keep growing toward the light.  Even a stump may grow another tree.

Have a blessed day today!

A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 100

Remember all the nonsense you’ve been taught?  All the insanity you were told was “true” when you were small?

Here’s an example:  My Mom grew up in the 30’s.  One of the things she “learned” growing up was that if you burned yourself, you put butter on the burn.

Sadly, the fact is that if you put any sort of fat, like butter, on a burn, what that actually does is produce a lovely scar.  Now, why in the world would anyone put grease on a burn?  Ya got me.  No idea.

Thankfully, when we moved to Arizona in the 60’s, my Mom quickly embraced the local wisdom that advised cutting a leaf of Aloe Vera plant, and wrapping the cut side down onto a burn.

Results?  Usually pretty dramatic!  Generally speaking, Aloe juice or gel on a burn will not only reduces the pain and promotes faster healing, it also will reduce any scarring.  Apparently there’s something in the gel that encourages the cells near the burn to repair the damage.

The world we live in is full of dis-information.

Why use old ideas when the results do not resemble the outcome we want?

Discard one outdated idea today.

Maybe it’s the idea that you lack something.

If you frequently find yourself thinking that you don’t have enough of something, say money, catch yourself today each time that thought passes through your mind.  Replace it with the idea that you have plenty of money.  Remind yourself each time that the Universe holds EVERYTHING, and IT wants you to be filled with joy, and that everything is at your disposal.

Because YOUR happiness is part of the solution.

Reach for it.

Hold it in your hand, gently.

And be grateful for it.

Grant yourself that joy that extends beyond “reason”.  Get rid of those old, outdated ideas that don’t work.  Grow some new ones.

And have a marvelous day!

A Course in Miracles Experiment (by Pam Grout) Day 93

Be different today.

Tell yourself how much you enjoy your work. Whatever you do that’s creative, whether it be painting, photography, cooking, woodworking, or writing – remind yourself how much you like doing that thing.

Even if what you do is figuring out new ways to amuse your cat.

Whatever you do, keep reminding yourself that inspiration is important, that you enjoy its company, and that you’re glad to have it around.

In “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert, she reminds us that our creativity is a gift, and we should frequently tell it we appreciate having it around.  As she puts it, “by saying you delight in your work, you draw inspiration near. …because inspiration  – like all of us -appreciates being appreciated.”

By expressing that appreciation, we draw our source of creativity nearer.  It’s a law of attraction rule that whatever you spend your time talking about, whatever you spend your brainpower thinking about, that’s what you’ll draw into your life.

If you want to be inspired, tell your inspiration source how much you love having it around, how much richer it makes your life, how you’re willing to ride with it to the end of the line.

And follow through.  Because words without work accomplish nothing.

The words themselves start to pull things towards you, but the work, and the joy you experience in the work, keep those things heading in your direction.

Yes, sometimes the work feels like work.

Sometimes it feels like you’re pulling a beach towel through a two-inch knothole.

Keep pulling.

Keep edging that tiny bit through each day, every day, until you get the darn towel all the way through.

That’s when the ideas will flood through that tiny hole, fast enough to nearly drown you, inspiration to last a lifetime.

And keep appreciating that source of inspiration, no matter how hard it may be.

The Universe wants you to create, wants you to express yourself, wants you to use her inspiration.  Indulge her, thank her, and get to work!

Have a blessed day today!
